this is the version of paint that i screened in experimental animation on wednesday. it’s a bit different from the first cut i put up here (mostly utilizing the textures of the paint rather than the motion of the strokes), but i’m quite happy with how it looks. full credit to squid for coming up with the idea of painting (i was originally going to rotoscope footage of jack, brooke and i dancing like idiots) and for encouraging me to try something i wasn’t familiar with. this is definitely something i want to investigate further.

i’ve disabled streaming on this one because the h264 compression didn’t like it very much and i had to bump the bitrate up to 1500k/s, so you’ll have to wait for it to load fully first.
otherwise, you can hit the little arrow button to download the clip or just click here.

everybody loves a mixtape…

mxmai: three (192kbps mp3, approx 100mb)
an ambientish mix of downbeat bits and pieces, some new stuff, some very old stuff. runs for a shade over 70 minutes.
through some overly-complicated trickery i’ve managed to record a bit of messing around in vdmx. here’s a couple of minutes of some messing around i was doing last night.

i’ve set up the second revision of my dad’s website, PeterReidBMW.com - a space on the web for his pride and joy, his BMW 323i.

it’s a first foray into PHP - something i’ve been telling myself i’d start investigating but up until recently haven’t gotten around to. the site was originally powered by WordPress but now uses a basic CMS-ish system i’ve written myself (implementing TinyMCE for easy editing).
not all that fascinating to look at, unless of course you like 3 series beamers, in which case you should hit up the gallery page pronto!
